Required Training and Certificates

  • A current ECE or ECEA Certificate number and expiry not before August 30, 2021

  • A working knowledge of Child Care Licensing regulations

  • A clear Criminal Records Check & Current First Aid

Required Experience and Skills

  • Have a strong command of spoken and written English and be able to create pedagogical documentation

  • Understanding of the Early Learning Framework

 

Key Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will have an ability to:

  • Work well with a Board of Directors and Executive Director

  • Be ready to implement the Early Learning Framework

  • Be ready to work with specialized provincial groups to support practice

  • Care for a group of 25 children ages 30 months to school age alongside 3 other staff members

  • Plan, carry out and evaluate emergent experiences arising from a weave of Indigenous ways of knowing

  • Develop and maintain strong ties with children based on respect and compassion

  • Ensure a healthy and safe environment for children

  • Maintain effective and cooperative teamwork and communication

  • Maintain positive and supportive relationships with families

TheCOVID-19 safety and response plans developed by the institution are intended to provide a comprehensive safety plan and support the return of international students. The intent is to mitigate risks associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.

The plans apply to domestic and international students; faculty and staff; community and the public; and external contractors.
